RESUMO

Quantum dense coding (QDC) means to transmit two classical bits by only transferring one quantum bit, which has enabled high-capacity information transmission and strengthened system security. Continuous-variable QDC offers a promising solution to increase communication rates while achieving seamless integration with classical communication systems. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a high-speed quantum radio-frequency-over-light (RFOL) communication scheme based on QDC with an entangled state, and achieve a practical rate of 20 Mbps through digital modulation and RFOL communication. This scheme bridges the gap between quantum technology and real-world communication systems, which bring QDC closer to practical applications and offer prospects for further enhancement of metropolitan communication networks.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Intentional replantation (IR) is considered as a viable treatment option to preserve the teeth with apical periodontitis. This study aimed to compare the treatment outcomes of IR in teeth with or without periodontal involvement, and to investigate the influence of related factors. METHODS: A total of 157 teeth with a documented history of IR between September 2012 and November 2022 and a follow-up duration of more than 1 year were included. The samples included 100 teeth with simple apical periodontitis and 57 teeth with combined periodontal-endodontic lesions (CPEL). Clinical and radiographic criteria were used to evaluate treatment outcomes including functional retention and extraction. Chi-square analyses and Fisher's exact tests were used to compare bivariate associations between outcomes and clinical or demographic variables. Kaplan-Meier analyses were used to evaluate the cumulative survival rate of the intentionally replanted teeth. RESULTS: The overall cumulative survival rates were 93.0% at 1 year, 76.7% at 5 years, and 56.2% at 10 years. Among the 100 teeth with simple apical periodontitis, the survival rates were 93.0%, 86.7%, and 78.8% at the same time points. In contrast, 57 teeth with CPEL exhibited survival rates of 93.0%, 65.0%, and 36.9%, respectively. The primary postoperative complications that led to extraction were periodontal involvement (51.9%), tooth fracture (18.5%), external root resorption (18.5%), and persistent apical periodontitis (11.1%). The outcomes of teeth with CPEL were significantly affected by the presence of a sinus tract and crown restoration. In contrast, no significant prognostic factors were identified for teeth without periodontal involvement. CONCLUSION: The long-term prognosis of teeth with CPEL is significantly worse than those with simple apical periodontitis. The main reason of extraction was periodontal involvement. Regular periodontal maintenance and appropriate crown restoration may help to improve the prognosis for teeth with CPEL.

RESUMO

The introduction of new internal fixation devices and arthroscopic techniques has led to significant changes in the surgical treatment of tibial eminence fractures (TEFs) in children. In recent years, arthroscopic surgery has arisen as the gold standard for the treatment of TEFs. This popularity of arthroscopic techniques has reduced surgical complications and improved patient prognosis. In this paper, we investigate the current situation of the use of arthroscopic fixation techniques for pediatric TEFs. We searched the PubMed database using the terms "arthroscopic treatment and tibial eminence," "arthroscopic treatment and tibial spine," "tibial eminence avulsion", "tibial spine fracture", with no limit on the year of publication. From these articles, we reviewed the use of various arthroscopic TEFs fixation techniques reported in the current literature. Overall, we found that the choice of fixation method seems to have no effect on clinical outcomes or imaging results. However, if an easy, strong fixation that is less prone to epiphyseal damage is desired, as a junior practitioner, the anchor technique should be mastered first, whereas for senior practitioners, a variety of fixation techniques for TEFs should be mastered, including anchors, sutures, and screws, so that personalized fixation can be achieved with the least amount of trauma, operative time, and complications. Higher quality studies are needed in the future to provide Useful evidence to determine the optimal fixation technique in terms of clinical outcomes, function, and complications.

RESUMO

Objective: To analyze the immune parameters of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and oligoclonal band (OCB) type in patients with anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-associated diseases (MOGAD). Methods: Patients who were seropositive for MOG-IgG and diagnosed with MOGAD according to the diagnosis criteria in the Department of Neurology, Huashan Hospital, Fudan University from December 2020 to June 2022 were retrospectively included in this study. Complete clinical data, blood and cerebrospinal fluid samples were collected from all the participants. Paired serum and CSF MOG-IgG and autoimmune encephalitis antibody were assayed by Cell Based Assay (CBA) based on transfected target antigens. Paired serum and CSF albumin and IgG were detected by turbidimetric scattering method, and OCB was detected by standard operation procedure as described. Results: A total of 86 patients (44 males and 42 females) with MOGAD were included in this study, with a median age of 30 years (range: 5-82 years). Among all the patients, 73 patients showed OCB type I, 12 patients showed OCB type II, and one patient showed OCB type III. The overall positive rate of CSF-OCB in MOGAD patients was 15.1 %. The 24-h intrathecal synthesis rate of CSF in the OCB-positive group (n = 13) was higher than that in the OCB-negative group [n = 73, 0.62 (0.26) vs 5.11 (13.67), P = 0.003]. Subgroup analysis revealed that the positive rates of CSF-OCB in the single MOG group (n = 61) and the group combined with other antibodies (n = 25) were 14.8 % and 16.0 %, respectively. The incidence of meningoencephalitis (13/61 vs 13/25, P = 0.011) was significantly different between the two groups. The proportion of patients with high (≥1:32) or low (≤1:10) CSF MOG-IgG also showed significant difference in the group combined with other antibodies (P = 0.032). Optic neuritis was more common in the relapse course group (n = 49) than the monophasic course group (n = 37, P < 0.001) No significant diferences of CSF immune parameters were found in the MOG-IgGserum+/CSF- group and the MOG-IgGserum+/CSF + group, and the titer of MOG-IgG in the serum or CSF did not influence CSF immune parameters in different subgroups. Conclusion: The overall positive rate of CSF-OCB in MOGAD patients was 15.1 %. The 24-h intrathecal synthesis rate of cerebrospinal fluid in the OCB-positive group was higher than that in the OCB-negative group. This study illustrated OCB characterization in MOGAD patients, and will shed light on the standardization of OCB test in the study of immune diseases.

RESUMO

Lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) has shown great competitiveness in point-of-care testing due to its flexibility and simplicity. Dyed polymer microspheres are one of the most widely used marker particles for signal presentation as they are very convenient for visual interpretation, which is one of the most attractive features of LFIA. The color intensity, as the most critical factor, is directly related to the visual effect. In this work, a physical-chemical dual-binding strategy was proposed for the preparation of functionalized dyed microspheres. Bifunctional seed microspheres were synthesized by introducing 4-vinylbenzyl chloride (VBC) into the soap-free emulsion polymerization process, and the effective immobilization of dyes inside and on the surface of the polymer microspheres was achieved by covalent bonding and swelling methods. The microspheres were characterized by SEM, FT-IR spectroscopy and UV-vis spectroscopy. The results showed that the microspheres containing VBC were spherical with an average particle size of 300 nm. When the microspheres were prepared by adding 10 wt% VBC relative to the total monomer, the immobilization amount of 1-[[4-[(dimethylphenyl)azo]dimethyl phenyl]azo]-2-naphthol (Red-27) was increased to 180 mg g-1, which was 1.8 times that of the microspheres without VBC. The resulting nanomaterials were successfully used to establish a lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of COVID-19 virus N protein. The linear response concentration range was 2.64-87.84 COI, and the detection limit was 14.95 COI.

RESUMO

In recent years, significant advancements have been made in the synthesis and application of 1,3-dienes. This specific structural motif has garnered significant attention from researchers in materials science and biology due to its unique aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties and extensive conjugation systems. The luminescent characteristics of these compounds are notably influenced by the geometry of the two double bonds. Therefore, it is essential to consolidate stereoselective synthetic strategies for 1,3-dienes. This comprehensive review seeks to elucidate the diverse techniques employed to attain stereo-control in the synthesis of 1,3-diene-based AIE luminogens (AIEgens). Particular emphasis is placed on comprehending the determinants of stereoselectivity and exploring the array of substrates amenable to these methods. Furthermore, the review underscores the AIE properties exhibited by these compounds and their extensive utility in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), stimuli-responsive materials, sensors, bioimaging, and photodynamic therapy (PDT).

RESUMO

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a highly malignant cancer characterized by poor prognosis, high heterogeneity, and intricate heterocellular systems. Selecting an appropriate experimental model for studying its progression and treatment is crucial. Patient-derived models provide a more accurate representation of tumor heterogeneity and complexity compared to cell line-derived models. This review initially presents relevant patient-derived models, including patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), patient-derived organoids (PDOs), and patient-derived explants (PDEs), which are essential for studying cell communication and pancreatic cancer progression. We have emphasized the utilization of these models in comprehending intricate intercellular communication, drug responsiveness, mechanisms underlying tumor growth, expediting drug discovery, and enabling personalized medical approaches. Additionally, we have comprehensively summarized single-cell analyses of these models to enhance comprehension of intercellular communication among tumor cells, drug response mechanisms, and individual patient sensitivities.

RESUMO

Magnetic polymer composites have been widely utilized in potential applications in material science, such as reduction of dyes, immunodiagnostics, biomedicals, and magnetically controllable photonic crystals owing to large surface areas, fast separation, and recyclable performance. In this work, anisotropic magnetic particles were prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization, with morphologies of "Fe3O4-shell", "hemisphere-like", "raspberry-like", "multiple lobes-like", and "sandwich-like". Poly(styrene/divinylbenzene/mono-2-(methacryloxy)ethyl succinate)@ Fe3O4 (P(St/DVB/MMES)@Fe3O4) were the seed microspheres, and P(St/DVB/MMES)@Fe3O4@polymer particles are achieved by seeded emulsion polymerizations. The morphology of the particles depends on polymerization conditions (monomer ratios and surfactant), particle properties, and so on. Then, the minimum surface free energy change principles were used to predict the equilibrium morphologies of the magnetic polymer composites. Through theory, the model gives the correct tendency and good agreement with the equilibrium morphology which was in tandem with TEM results. Lastly, after in situ surface deposition of Ag nanoparticles, magnetic composite particles with sandwich-like morphology were applied for the catalytic degradation of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) reacting with NaBH4. The apparent rate coefficient is 0.0069 s-1, and it can keep mainly about 80% efficiency in catalysis after five cycles.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Currently, there is no simple and valid method to predict the length and size of the native anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in each adult patient who will undergo ACL reconstruction. This study aimed to develop an imaging prediction method that can predict the length and size of ACL grafts using the intact posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), in order to enhance the graft preparation individualized sizing. METHODS: Three hundred and nineteen patients aged 18 years or older who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the knee at an orthopaedic clinic between September 9, 2021, and February 5, 2023, were included. The length, sagittal diameter, and coronal diameter of the ACL and PCL were measured in all patients, and F-test were performed to explore linear relationship between ligament measurements. RESULTS: Equations were established to predict a variable of the native ACL for the corresponding variable of the intact PCL (i.e., sagittal diameter of the ACL = 4.32 + 1.08 × sagittal diameter of the PCL, and coronal diameter of the ACL = 2.45 + 0.59 × coronal diameter of the PCL, length of the male ACL = 10.92 + 0.64 × length of the male PCL, length of the female ACL = 11.76 + 0.58 × length of the female PCL) (R2 = 0.532; R2 = 0.417; R2 = 0.488; R2 = 0.509; respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The length and size of the intact PCL in cases without PCL buckling are predictors of the length and size of the native ACL in adults, respectively. The use of this information to optimize graft diameter may lower the rates of ACL graft failure in the future.

RESUMO

The widespread use of biogas slurry could potentially raise the environmental risk of antibiotics. Dissolved organic matter (DOM), as the most active part of biogas slurry, was able to interact with antibiotics and play a crucial role in the structure and function of soil and aquatic ecosystems. The recent shifts in global climate patterns have garnered significant attention due to their substantial impact on temperature, thereby exerting a direct influence on the characteristics of DOM and subsequently on the environmental behavior of antibiotics. However, there is limited research concerning the impact of temperature on the binding of DOM and antibiotics. Thus, this study aimed to explore the temperature-dependent structural transformation and driving factors of biogas slurry-derived DOM (BSDOM). Additionally, the binding characteristics between BSDOM and the commonly used antibiotic norfloxacin (NOR) at different temperatures were studied by using multi spectroscopic methods and two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2D-COS) analysis. The results suggested that the temperature-dependent structural transformation of BSDOM was reversible, with a slight lag in the transition temperature under cooling (13 °C for heating and 17 °C for cooling). Heating promoted the conversion of protein-like to humic-like substances while cooling favored the decomposition of humic-like substances. BSDOM and NOR were static quenching, with oxygen-containing functional groups such as C-O and -OH playing an important role. Temperature influenced the order of binding, the activity of the protein fraction, and its associated functional groups. At temperatures of 25 °C and 40 °C, the fluorescent components were observed to exhibit consistent binding preferences, whereby the humic-like component demonstrated a greater affinity for NOR compared to the protein-like component. However, the functional group binding order exhibited an opposite trend. At 10 °C, a new protein-like component appeared and bound preferentially to NOR, when no C-O stretch corresponding to the amide was observed. The finding will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the interaction mechanisms between DOM and antibiotics under climate change, as well as providing a theoretical basis to reduce the environmental risks of biogas slurry and antibiotics.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Mobility limitation, a manifestation of impaired intrinsic capacity, is the first obvious sign of functional decline. However, few studies have been conducted on the prevalence and incidence of mobility limitation. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and incidence of mobility limitation in Chinese older adults (over 60 years old) and evaluate its impact on mortality. METHODS: The study used two waves of data from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in 2011 and 2013. The prevalence and incidence of mobility limitation were assessed using the methods recommended by the World Health Organization in the integrated care for older people guidelines, using the five-time sit-to-stand test as a screening and then the Short Physical Performance Battery assessment for diagnosis. Multivariable logistic regression was used to analyze the association between mobility limitation and death. RESULTS: Of the 5507 participants with complete baseline data, 1486 had limited mobility, and 4021 had intact mobility at baseline; 4093 participants completed follow-up assessment 2 years later, and 189 died between the baseline and follow-up assessments. Of the 2828 participants with intact mobility at baseline who completed the follow-up mobility assessment, 408 developed mobility limitation. The standardized prevalence was 30.4% (95% CI = 28.8-32.1 %). The standardized incidence of mobility limitation in 2 years was 18.1% (95% CI = 15.8-20.4 %). A total of 189 patients died during the follow-up period. After adjusting for sociodemographic factors and chronic diseases, mobility limitation was associated with an increased risk of death (odds ratio = 1.84, 95% CI = 1.33-2.55, P < .001). CONCLUSIONS: The standardized prevalence of mobility limitation in Chinese older adults living in the community was 30.4%, and the standardized incidence was 18.1%. Mobility limitation significantly predicts 2-year death in older adults. This suggests that early screening, assessment of intrinsic capacity (particularly locomotion domain) as well as tailored interventions to tackle mobility limitation in older adults might reduce mortality.

RESUMO

A high-efficiency, high-energy, narrow bandwidth, hundred-nanosecond pulse width 355 nm ultraviolet (UV) laser was realized. A high-energy single-frequency 1064 nm fundamental laser was demonstrated firstly with multistage end-pumped preamplifiers and side-pumped main amplifiers. The corresponding pulse energy, repetition rate, pulse duration, bandwidth, and beam quality factor M2 were determined to be 221 mJ, 100 Hz, 156 ns, 2.25 MHz, and 1.23, respectively. By using type-I phase-matching LBO crystal for second harmonic generation (SHG) and type-II phase-matching LBO crystal for the sum frequency generation of the third harmonic, 67 mJ, a narrow bandwidth 355 nm UV laser was obtained with a pulse width of 137 ns and an energy stability of RMS < 1.2%@2 h. The fundamental to UV optical conversion efficiency was 30.3%. Our results provided a new way for generating high-energy, narrow bandwidth hundred-nanosecond 355 nm UV lasers used for direct-detection Doppler wind lidar (DWL) system.

RESUMO

To compare the diagnostic value of [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT and [18F]-FDG PET/CT for primary and metastatic lesions in different types of tumors. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 51 patients with 11 different types of tumors. Among them, 20 patients underwent PET/CT, and 31 patients underwent restaging. The patients were diagnosed using [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT and [18F]-FDG PET/CT scan techniques, and adverse reactions were recorded. Thickness of primary lesions, metastasis, and lymph node involvement were analyzed and confirmed by histological analysis. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT and [18F]-FDG PET/CT were calculated. Neither [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT nor [18F]-FDG PET/CT scan techniques caused adverse reactions in the patients. [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT performed well in detecting recurrence, with a positive rate of 100%, higher than 71.0% of [18F]-FDG PET/CT. Compared with [18F]-FDG PET/CT, [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT identified 6 types of malignant tumors more clearly, and could improve the detection rate of primary and metastatic tumors (97.0% vs. 84.8%, P<0.001). [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT exhibited a higher sensitivity for detecting lymph node (81.8% vs. 50.0%, P<0.05) than [18F]-FDG PET/CT. Additionally, [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT demonstrated higher diagnostic sensitivity (67.39% vs. 58.7%, P=0.387) and accuracy (82.14% vs. 60.71%, P=0.377) for detecting metastatic lesions compared to [18F]-FDG PET/CT. [18F]-AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04 PET/CT outperforms [18F]-FDG PET/CT in diagnosing primary and metastatic lesions across various types of tumors, especially in identifying lymph node, visceral, and peritoneal metastases. It can improve diagnostic efficiency and accuracy, thereby positively influencing clinical decision-making for optimal patient management.

RESUMO

Silicon (Si) has garnered significant interest as a potential anode material for next-generation lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical capacity. However, Si anodes suffer from substantial volume expansion during the charge and discharge processes, which severely undermines their cycling stability. To address this issue, developing novel binders has become an effective strategy to suppress the volume expansion of Si anodes. In this study, a multifunctional polymer binder (DCCS) was designed by the cross-linking of dialdehyde cellulose nanocrystal (DACNC) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS), which forms a 3D network structure via Schiff-base bonds. The DCCS binder with abundant chemical and hydroxyl bonds shows strong adhesion between Si nanoparticles and current collectors, thus enhancing the mechanical properties of the electrode. Furthermore, the DACNC also served as the protecting buffer layer to release the inner stress and stabilize the solid electrolyte interface (SEI). At 4 A g-1, the resulting Si@25%DCCS electrode demonstrated a capacity of 1637 mAh g-1 after 500 cycles, with an average capacity fading rate of 0.07% per cycle. Therefore, this multifunctional binder is considered a promising binder for high-performance Si anodes.

RESUMO

Cancer stands as a serious malady, posing substantial risks to human well-being and survival. This underscores the paramount necessity to explore and investigate novel antitumor medications. Nitrogen-containing compounds, especially those derived from natural sources, form a highly significant category of antitumor agents. Among these, antitumor agents with six-membered aromatic nitrogen heterocycles have consistently attracted the attention of chemists and pharmacologists. Accordingly, we present a comprehensive summary of synthetic strategies and clinical implications of these compounds in this review. This entails an in-depth analysis of synthesis pathways for pyridine, quinoline, pyrimidine, and quinazoline. Additionally, we explore the historical progression, targets, mechanisms of action, and clinical effectiveness of small molecule inhibitors possessing these structural features.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: To understand the prevalence of hypertension among Chinese college students over the past decade (2010-2020) and predict its future trend, we aim to provide a basis for preventing and controlling hypertension among college students. METHODS: Databases such as Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang database, PubMed, and Web of Science were searched, and publications on the prevalence of hypertension among Chinese college students from 2010 to 2020 were collected. Search for publications in both Chinese and English databases using keywords "hypertension," "prevalence," "disease status," "cross-sectional survey," "epidemiology," "China," "adolescents," and "college students." Publication screening, data extraction, and quality assessment were independently conducted by 2 researchers. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 16, and trends in the prevalence of hypertension among college students were analyzed using R 4.2.0. RESULTS: A total of 37 publications were included in this analysis, which involved 233,603 Chinese college students. The Meta-analysis results showed significant heterogeneity among the studies (I2 = 98.9%, P < .05). Using a random-effects model, the overall prevalence of hypertension among college students was estimated to be 3.3% (95% CI = 2.9%-3.6%), with a higher prevalence among male students (6.2%, 95% CI = 5.4%-7.1%) than female students (1.1%, 95% CI = 0.9%-1.3%). The prevalence of hypertension is notably higher in northern regions than in southern regions. The prevalence of hypertension among college students showed an increasing trend from 2010 to 2020. Trend analysis predicted that the prevalence of hypertension among college students will reach 10% and 14.6% by 2030 and 2040, respectively. The risk of hypertension in male students was 4.63 times higher than that of female students (95% CI = 2.97-7.23). Compared normal weight students, overweight and obese students had 3.08 times (95% CI = 2.48-3.82) and 6.69 times (95% CI = 2.25-19.90) higher risk of hypertension, respectively. CONCLUSION: The prevalence of hypertension in Chinese college students was about 3.3%. The prevalence of hypertension in male college students was higher than that in females, and the prevalence in northern regions was generally higher than that in southern regions. The prevalence of hypertension among Chinese college students will reach 10.0% in the next 10 years and 14.6% in the next 20 years. Male and BMI ≥ 24 were risk factors for hypertension among college students.

RESUMO

Achieving both high efficiency and long-term stability is the key to the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs)1,2. However, the diversity of perovskite (ABX3) compositions and phases makes it challenging to fabricate high-quality films3-5. Perovskite formation relies on the reaction between AX and BX2, whereas most conventional methods for film-growth regulation are based solely on the interaction with the BX2 component. Herein, we demonstrate an alternative approach to modulate reaction kinetics by anion-π interaction between AX and hexafluorobenzene (HFB). Notably, these two approaches are independent but work together to establish 'dual-site regulation', which achieves a delicate control over the reaction between AX and BX2 without unwanted intermediates. The resultant formamidinium lead halides (FAPbI3) films exhibit fewer defects, redshifted absorption and high phase purity without detectable nanoscale δ phase. Consequently, we achieved PSCs with power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 26.07% for a 0.08-cm2 device (25.8% certified) and 24.63% for a 1-cm2 device. The device also kept 94% of its initial PCE after maximum power point (MPP) tracking for 1,258 h under full-spectrum AM 1.5 G sunlight at 50 ± 5 °C. This method expands the range of chemical interactions that occur in perovskite precursors by exploring anion-π interactions and highlights the importance of the AX component as a new and effective working site to improved photovoltaic devices with high quality and phase purity.

RESUMO

Objective: Although the effect of vitamins on the risk of mortality in diabetic patients has been reported, most studies focus on individual vitamins. However, humans are often exposed to multiple vitamins simultaneously in daily life. Therefore, it is worth exploring the effects of co-exposure to multiple vitamins on the risk of mortality in diabetic patients. Methods: This study included diabetic patients aged ≥20WD years who participated in NHANES from 2003 to 2006. An unsupervised K-means clustering method was used to cluster eight vitamins in serum into several patterns of co-exposure to multiple vitamins, and the Cox proportional hazards model was used to evaluate the impact of different patterns of co-exposure to multiple vitamins on the risk of all-cause mortality in diabetic patients. Results: Three patterns of co-exposure to multiple vitamins were generated based on K-means clustering, namely, low-level, moderate-level, and high-level. Among the 484 diabetic patients, with a median follow-up of 13.7 years, a total of 211 deaths occurred. After adjusting for covariates, the individual vitamins had varying effects on the risk of all-cause mortality in diabetic patients. Compared to the low-level group of co-exposure to multiple vitamins, the high-level group significantly reduced the risk of all-cause mortality in diabetic patients, with a HR of 0.42 (95% CI: 0.20, 0.87). Subgroup analysis demonstrated that high levels of co-exposure to multiple vitamins significantly reduced the risk of all-cause mortality in males, individuals aged ≥ 60 years, and non-Hispanic White people with diabetes compared to the low-level group, with HR of 0.42 (95% CI: 0.18, 0.98), 0.53 (95% CI: 0.26, 0.98), and 0.26 (95% CI: 0.12, 0.58) respectively. Conclusion: While individual vitamins had different effects on the risk of all-cause mortality in patients with diabetes, high-level co-exposure to multiple vitamins significantly reduced the risk of all-cause mortality in patients with diabetes, with differences observed among genders, ages, and race. This suggests that when developing vitamin intervention strategies for patients with diabetes, consideration should be given not only to the dosage of individual vitamins but also to the variations between different population groups.

RESUMO

Recently, the design of graphene-based films with elaborately controlled microstructures and optimized electromagnetic interference shielding (EMI) properties can effectively improve EM energy attenuation and conversion. Herein, inspired by the structure of multi-layer steamed bread, an alternating multilayered structure with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-derived carbon layers and graphene/electrospun carbon nanofibers layers was designed through alternating vacuum-assisted filtration method. The composite film exhibited favorable impedance matching, abundant loss mechanism, and excellent EMI shielding ability, resulting in absorption dominated shielding characteristic. Thus, the resultant 7-layer alternating composite films with a thickness of 160 µm achieved an EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of up to 80 dB in the X-band. Specially, finite element analysis was applied to demonstrate the importance of seven-layer film alternations and detailed analysis of electromagnetic shielding mechanisms. Taken together, this effort opens a creative avenue for designing and constructing flexible composite films with excellent EMI shielding performance.

RESUMO

At present, most ecotoxicological studies are still confined to focusing on the harmful effects of biochar itself on soil fauna. However, the potential ecotoxicity of different components separated from biochar to terrestrial invertebrates remains poorly understood. In this study, the dissolved matter (DM) and particulate matter (PM) were separated from biochar (BC) and then introduced into the soil-earthworm system to investigate the response mechanism of earthworms at the molecular level. The results showed that BC and DM exposure caused an increase in the abundance of Proteobacteria in the cast bacterial community, suggesting the dysbiosis of intestinal microbiota. It was also observed that the cast bacterial communities were more sensitive to DM exposure than PM exposure. Transcriptomic analysis showed that BC and DM exposure induced significant enrichment of functional pathways related to infectious and neuropathic diseases. Metabolomic profiling manifested that DM exposure caused metabolic dysfunction, antioxidant and detoxification abilities recession. Furthermore, significant differences in the responses of earthworms at transcriptomic and metabolic levels confirmed that DM exhibited greater ecotoxicity than PM. This study highlighted the significant contributions of dissolved matter to the ecotoxicity of biochar from the perspective of transcriptomic and metabolomic profiles.
